Virtual Hospital is closed!

I sadly noticed my favorite VH was shut down just now. The website said it was due to short of funding. Just curious where the initiatial money came from, and why they stopped support such as wonderful site. The project was well managed. I like it very much, and planned to continue my use of it for my step 3 preparation. Apparently, I have to find out other ways.

Good news is the 3rd party archive system has it! The link is here VH Archive

Wish the archive would be kept longer.

Let me cite the history of the site brieftly, as my greatest regret to loss of the site.
"After 13 years of service, on January 1, 2006, Virtual Hospital / Virtual Children's Hospital, the Internet's first medical Web sites, ceased operations after serving over 80 million users, due to a lack of funding."

"Incompletely archived versions of Virtual Hospital / Virtual Children's Hospital may be found at the Internet Archive, with the last archival copy being from November 30, 2004. "
